Wage & Hour Rights and Responsibilities

Wage Payment: Employee rights consist of:- Spend for all earnings made (INFO # 3) at the rate consented to by the employer and employee.

Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

Demands & Complaints for Wages: If an employer owes you incomes, you can send your employer a written need for payment of incomes by mail, e-mail, text, or other electronic means. A written need may be sent out to the employer at the same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for overdue salaries is filed with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be discovered on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page.

Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a complete Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and examined, a letter explaining the nature of the complaint and the amounts declared to be owed is sent out to the employer. Investigations Launched by the Division (” Direct Investigations”): The Division may perform employer-wide direct investigations of possible violations of Colorado wage and hour law. If you want to file a private claim for unpaid incomes, you must fill out a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page. To appeal a direct examination citation or several Notices of Assessment, a supposed employer may send a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
